Meet the Author

Mary Peers wrote her first poem at the age of six after her mom gave her a children’s literature book in which she discovered the illustrations alongside poetry and stories were a potent combination. Her love of symbols in all things mythological blossomed, along with her love of words.

She wrote constantly, experimenting with poetry, essays and fiction and studied pictorial symbolism, art, linguistics and language. Eventually, her interest in myth and dreams took over, recognizing that it was a form of communication that went deeper, and was in fact the language of our souls.

Her early writing of poetry and non-fiction essays earned her honorable mentions and second place awards. But it was in her first book, THE WISDOM OF WOOD, VOLUME 1- HAZELNUT that she created a journey weaving myth into dream and thus reality. It recently received a Silver award from Literary Titan.

In her recent publication, EMILY SWAN AND THE DREAM PILLOW, Mary Peers again works with the subject of dreams and shows how they transform the life of a young girl. It recently received three honorable mentions from the Purple Dragonfly Children’s Literature contest, two honorable mentions from the Royal Dragonfly Book Awards, and a Silver award from Literary Titan.

She loves to talk with friends and family about their dreams, exploring individual lexicons.
